The sole purpose of Icelandic New Energy is to work toward fossil free transport in Iceland. During the 20 years of operation the company has worked on various projects stimulating the use of alternative energy and lobbied domestically and internationally for green policies. As such the company is now the key consultant to the government of Iceland when it comes to eco-friendly fuel policies.

INE has had a leading role regarding consultancy to the Government of Iceland regarding zero emission policies. Numerous opportunities have been identified and currently the company is responsible for many research activities other than the three large EU projects mentioned above.
